  13. Have been using SLIPCall4 Version 37.51 for some time now with my Maestro
  14. 9600XR modem and have had no problems connecting at 2400 to my service
  15. provider.

  17. I recently purchased a MULTITECH 28.8 modem and have not been able to connect
  18. with my service provider since. I am using the modem's default string of ATF\r
  19. as my initialising string. The modem connects with my server usually at 26800.
  20. It then sends login name and password, says "starting AmiTCP" and the modem
  21. then goes offline.

  23. The display shows IP as 0.0.0.0, name: localhost, connected to Merlin etc. I
  24. have included an AmiTCP output as follows

  39. My setup is as follows: AmiTCP Version 4.1, PPP Version 1.45 unregistered.
  40. Serial device is v34serial.device. Workbench serial preferences are set at
  41. 31250 baun, RTS/CTS, 8N1.

  43. The only changes made to the setup when changing to the new modem was serial
  44. rate set at 57600. When this did not work, all rates were set and various
  45. other initialisation strings were tried all with the same results.

  47. The modem works fine with GPFAX and TERM 4.5.

  49. I hope this information will assist you in determining the problem I am having
